MIDDLE ATLANTIC - Military service member client was issued a Letter of Intent (LOI)/Statement of Reasons (SOR) by the Central Adjudication Facility (CAF) based upon the Adjudicative Guidelines for Financial Considerations based upon Judgments totaling approximately $400,000.00 resulting from a downturn in the real estate market. After considering the substantial documentation in support of the client's efforts to resolve the debt issues, the CAF found for the service member and granted the clearance without the necessity of a Personal Appearance.

WEST - Applicant, Defense Contractor was issued a Statement of Reasons (SOR) alleging allegations under Guideline F – Financial Considerations, after a business venture failed with resulting Federal and State tax liens in excess of $150,000 dollars. At Hearing we were able to demonstrate documented and long-standing efforts on the part of our client to resolve the tax liabilities with a sufficient explanation of the reasons behind the business failure, with a resulting finding FOR THE APPLICANT and granting of the clearance.

NEW ENGLAND - Applicant employee of Defense Contractor was issued a Statement of Reasons (SOR) under Adjudicative Guideline H: Drug Involvement due to use of marijuana with varying frequency for about 3 years, with the last use occurring after being advised that a security clearance was required for the position, and with the last use occurring in the month preceding execution of the SF86; as well as purchasing marijuana on several occasions. After presentation of the case at a Hearing the Administrative Judge found FOR THE APPLICANT and granted the clearance.

Clearance Granted by the Personnel Security Appeals Board of the CAF
SOUTHEAST - Client active duty military officer was issued a Letter of Intent (LOI)/Statement of Reasons (SOR) for Adjudicative Guidelines: B - Foreign Influence, C - Foreign Preference, J - Criminal Conduct, and K - Handling of Protected Information as a result of being a foreign national, a stated hesitation to renounce the foreign citizenship, having numerous family members in a foreign country to include a senior officer in the foreign military, criminal investigation for VUCMJ Articles 92 and 134 (assimilating 18 U.S.C. Section 793(d) Gathering, Transmitting or Losing Defense Information), and numerous questionable financial transactions of large dollar amounts. After presenting the case before an Administrative Judge from the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals (DOHA), the Personnel Security Appeals Board (PSAB) of the Central Adjudication Facility (CAF) granted the clearance.

WASHINGTON, DC - Client civilian employee of Department of Defense was issued a Letter of Intent (LOI)/Statement of Reasons (SOR) for Adjudicative Guidelines related to G - Alcohol Consumption, I - Psychological Conditions, F - Financial Considerations, and J - Criminal Conduct related to failure to disclose alcohol counseling or treatment, admission on a number of occasions for detoxification and mental health issues, previous revocation of clearance based upon treatment for alcoholism, arrest for DUI, and recent Bankruptcy. After presentation of a written response to the allegations the Central Adjudication Facility found for the client and granted the clearance without the necessity of having to go through a Personal Appearance.
Administrative Judge Found for the Applicant in Protected Information Case
EUROPE - Client employee of an international treaty organization (adjudicated as a Defense Contractor case under DoD Directive 5220.6) received SOR alleging approximately 13 different security violation/incidents, covering various levels of classified information, over an approximate nine-year period of time, under Guideline K – Handling Protected Information. After presentation of voluminous information and testimony at a Hearing the Administrative Judge found FOR THE APPLICANT and the clearance was granted.

CAF Found for the Client Without a Personal Appearance
SOUTHEAST - Client Federal Government employee within DoD received Letter of Intent (LOI)/Statement of Reasons (SOR) for allegations under Adjudicative Guideline – Alcohol Consumption as a result of four alcohol-related driving incidents within an eight year period, to include underage consumption and operation of a vehicle, with the most recent incident occurring in the month preceding execution of the SF86. After following our guidance on alcohol avoidance, obtaining counseling, and other measures, client was granted a clearance by the Central Adjudication Facility without having to go through a Personal Appearance.

Clearance Granted After Client’s Improper Use of Technology Systems
WASHINGTON, DC - Client received interrogatories from Adjudication Authority concerning events that would fall under Adjudicative Guidelines E - Personal Conduct, and M – Use of Information Technology Systems as a result of improper use of employer provided computer by searching for and viewing inappropriate images, being terminated from one employer as a result of misuse of Information Technology Systems, and a later improper use of Technology Systems at a subsequent employer. After providing a detailed response to the Interrogatories to include steps taken to preclude future similar inappropriate behavior, Adjudication Authority granted the clearance with no further proceedings required.
