MIDDLE ATLANTIC - Client civilian employee of the Department of Defense was issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) /Statement of Reasons (SOR) under Adjudicative Guidelines D - Sexual Behavior and M - Use of Information Technology Systems as a result of having been personally observed viewing sexually oriented material on a government issued computer after having previously been notified that this behavior was prohibited and having previously been observed viewing sexually oriented material on a government computer several years previously, and counseled at that time about such prohibited behavior as well as having been administratively punished for such misconduct. After submitting a detailed response to the SOR the Central Adjudication Facility granted the client's clearance.

MIDDLE ATLANTIC - Client previously declined interim for clearance as a government employee due to Adjudicative Guideline F - Financial Considerations following Bankruptcy due to aftereffects of 9/11 impact on Defense Contractors and tax indebtedness as well as errors made on SF86, Questionnaire for National Security Positions. Client contacted JAG Defense about two years ago to discuss potential for getting a clearance again in the future. Client eventually offered another government employee position and this time, with assistance from JAG Defense was successful in obtaining favorable interim decision, permitting client to commence work, and then receiving final favorable clearance.

SOUTHEAST - Client Federal Government civilian employee within the Department of Defense was issued a Letter of Intent (LOI)/Statement of Reasons (SOR) under Adjudicative Guideline F - Financial Considerations as a result of a number of financial accounts in collection, two tax liens, a Bankruptcy, and a Judgment resulting in garnished wages as well as misuse of a Government Travel Card for personal use. After submitting a response to the SOR the Central Adjudication Facility found FOR THE APPLICANT and the clearance was granted without the necessity of a Personal Appearance.

MIDDLE ATLANTIC - Client defense contractor was issued a Statement of Reasons (SOR) under Adjudicative Guideline H – Drug Involvement and E – Personal Conduct for use of illegal drugs and misuse of prescription drugs, testing positive for illegal drug use, and drug use while possessing a security clearance as well as failing to disclose drug use in a security clearance background investigation and adjudication. After presenting the case before an Administrative Judge from the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals the clearance was granted with the Judge finding FOR THE APPLICANT.

MIDDLE ATLANTIC - Client Federal Government civilian employee was issued Letter of Intent (LOI)/Statement of Reasons (SOR) under the Adjudicative Guideline for F - Financial Considerations after having three real estate properties (one residential and two investment) fall into foreclosure/short-sale as well as having a Judgment issued by one of the properties "property owner association" for falling behind on debts totally approximately $295,000.00. After submission of a written response to the SOR demonstrating the substantial efforts that the client had made, even though there remained outstanding balances on a number of the accounts, the Central Adjudication Facility issued a "Conditional" granting of the clearance.

MOUNTAIN WEST - Active duty service member issued Letter of Intent (LOI)/Statement of Reasons (SOR) due to allegations under Adjudicative Guidelines for J - Criminal Conduct, E - Personal Conduct, and G - Alcohol Consumption concerns as a result of extensive history of alcohol consumption beginning in the early teenage years, self-identified alcohol dependence with inability to stop consumption, treatment for alcohol consumption followed by a DUI while undergoing outpatient treatment for alcohol consumption at time of DUI, failure to disclose DUI to command, and continuing to consume alcohol after being diagnosed as an alcohol abuser. After submission of a response to the SOR the Central Adjudication Facility granted the clearance without the necessity of a Personal Appearance.

MIDDLE ATLANTIC - Senior civilian contractor issued Letter of Intent (LOI)/Statement of Reasons (SOR) by Central Adjudication Facility with regard to eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) under Adjudicative Guidelines for E - Personal Conduct, D - Sexual Behavior, and J - Criminal Conduct as a result of loss of eligibility for access to SCI by a "three-lettered Agency," because of an extensive history of sexual behavior of a public nature, and negative information resulting from a government-directed psychological examination. After presentation of the client's case before an Administrative Judge from the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals, the access was reinstated.

WASHINGTON DC - Senior Department of Justice Federal government employee issued Statement of Reasons (SOR) as the result of an Office of Inspector General Report listing concerns under Adjudicative Guidelines E – Personal Conduct, for allegedly deliberately providing false or misleading information concerning relevant facts to an investigating official, pattern of dishonesty, pattern of rule violations related to nepotism and favoritism resulting in unauthorized preferences or advantages and use of public office for private gain. After submitting a response to the adjudicating official the client's clearance was reinstated.
